Isla Lobos and Kicker Rock

Photo 1: Sunset at Wreck Bay

On Thursday 29 April, we went on a snorkelling day trip to Isla Lobos and Kicker Rock.

Highlights at Isla Lobos included swimming with sea lions, and getting close to Galapagos green turtles. Also lots of Marine Iguanas, Frigate birds, boobies etc.

At Kicker rock, swimming with the tide though a chasm and seeing a large Hammer Head shark, 20-30 Spotted Eagle rays followed by 10 Galapagos white tipped sharks. Very spectacular.

We Left Wreck Bay yesterday at 0800 and motored to Puerto Ayora (very little wind). We arrived at 1300.

During the short trip we passed Isla Sante Fe with sea lions bathing on their backs. Puerto Ayora is a very busy tourist destination. We are planning a shore visit during the afternoon.
